Part of the National Trust Collection, this is such an attractive oil jar, with a typically Florentine, small lion head decoration placed just at the bottom of the pot. This gorgeous terracotta pot will instantly transport you to the Mediterranean. We also think this jar would look just as lovely in a glasshouse as well as out in the garden.

The National Trust care for a number of Italianate gardens within their historic landscapes and these Italian inspired gardens were created in the early 19th century after the owners had returned from their Grand Tour. Handmade terracotta pots and vases, as well as statuary, featured prominently in the gardens.
